Clear Channel’s KNIX morning show team, Ben and Matt, had another wildly successful food drive this past November. The 3rd Annual Ben and Matt’s Million Can Crusade raised well over a million cans of food to help St. Vincent De Paul feed hungry families in Arizona.

KNIX radio, Safeway stores, Desert Schools Federal Credit Union, and Coulter Tempe partnered for this huge event. Ben and Matt listeners were encouraged to drop off food at any Safeway store or St. Vincent De Paul location. They could also make a cash donation online or at any Desert Schools branch.

outpouring of community support

$1 = 10 cans of food. Ben and Matt stressed this important fact and were able to bring in 1.6 million cans by the time the drive ended. They also dropped by the St. Vincent’s Watkins campus in early January to present a check for $30,000, representing money collected at Safeway cash registers.

Ben and Matt’s Million Can Crusade has bought more than 3.5 million cans of food for the Valley’s hungry in just three short years.
