3500 daily meals

A 2009 report by the Food Research and Action Center offered a closer look into the lives of low-income individuals and families, those who have been hardest hit by the recession. The study showed that one in five households in Arizona do not have enough money to buy food. This ranks Arizona 17th in the country!

Over 888,000 Arizonans, almost half of them children under the age of 18, received emergency food in 2009. Today, St. Vincent de Paul responds to more and more requests for assistance. With millions of people below the poverty line and teetering toward homelessness, individuals and families are stretching their money as far as possible and living paycheck to paycheck.

Armed with a powerhouse food bank that serves communities throughout Arizona, St. Vincent de Paul is honored to assist in alleviating hunger in our communities. kitchen

volunteers

Through the hard work of our volunteers, St. Vincent de Paul processes and distributes over nine million pounds of food annually and provides more than 1.1 million hot meals to the homeless and working poor each year.

Through five charity dining rooms and in partnership with 17 other non-profit agencies without access to their own kitchen, Saint Vincent feeds this community - daily. Volunteers are truly the heart of St. Vincent de Paul. Our volunteers come from every religious, ethnic and economic background. Some volunteer in groups, while others volunteer individually or with their families.

With one of the largest industrial kitchens in Arizona, our volunteers assist in preparing more than 3,500 meals a day for distribution. Whether you are able to volunteer once or once a week, we can use you!
